Trailer Accident in Santa Catarina Leaves Hundreds Without Water

An accident involving a trailer caused the collapse of two utility poles in the San Gregorio colony, Santa Catarina municipality, leaving several areas without electricity and, consequently, cutting off the water supply to hundreds of families. The power outage directly affected the pumping system that supplies drinking water to several sectors of Santa Catarina and the southern area of García, forcing an immediate suspension of its operation. «The pumping system that supplies water to various sectors was suspended due to a power failure caused by a trailer that knocked down two utility poles,» confirmed Agua y Drenaje in a statement. CFE is repairing the damage In response to the contingency, personnel from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) are already working on-site to repair the damage and restore power in the area. Authorities reported that once the electricity service is normalized, the water supply will be gradually restored. «We regret the inconvenience this may cause our users. We will continue to update through our official communication channels,» the agency stated. The affected population is advised to remain attentive to official notices through the organization's social media.
